This is one of the items I recommend frequently for self defense. This gel is significantly better than the traditional spray. You don't run as high a risk of accidentally getting sprayed by an aerosol in windy conditions. The visor clip makes it easier to keep in a safe place until needed.

I haven't had to use this thankfully, and I'm a bit too nervous to test it out, but it seems easy to use! The instructions are very clear and thoroughly explain how to use the product. The safety lock feels secure yet easy to navigate when you need to use it. I like that it's a gel rather than an aerosol so I don't have to worry as much about it blowing back towards me if I have to use it. The bottle is nice and compact and could fit on a keychain or in a car glove box, etc.

I haven't had to use it in real life yet but the item is light and packs small. It can be carried in a purse and also comes with a sun visor clip that you can use for your car. It unlocks quickly and easily even has instructions to show the best way to spray it.
